Governance of
TLMN:
The responsibility for
running TLMN rests with a nine-man Board of Trustees, which meets at least
once a year and comprises:
- A Non-Executive Chairman,
Prof. Jacob M. Baba
- Eight Non-Executive Trustees,
including four representatives of TLMI, and four eminent Nigerians,
chosen for their experience and exemplary lives in Nigerian public life.
The Board of Trustees
delegates responsibilities to a seven-man National Executive Committee (NEC)
comprising five Trustees, the National Director and the Business Manager. The
NEC meets at least twice a year.
Day-to-day running of
TLMN is handled by the Nigeria Coordination Office headed by the National
Director who is assisted by a team of officers comprising; a Business
Manager, an Accountant, a Logistic Officer, a Support/Promotions Coordinator,
four Technical Advisers, and a Personal Assistant.
The three main standing committees of the Board are:
- Personnel Advisory Committee to recruit staff and ensure
that personnel policies are in line with legal requirements.
- Support and Promotions
Committee to
raise awareness about the work of TLMN and advocate for people affected
by leprosy.
- Technical Advisory Group to advise on strategies for
project implementation on the field.
